Tile set properly - floors, walls and showers that are still flat, level and sealed years later, because the prep under them was done right.

Finish · What we do

What makes a tile job last?

A tile installation lasts or fails on what is under it. The visible part - straight lines, even grout, tile that is flat and level - is the easy half. The half that decides whether it is still sound in five years is the prep: a solid, level substrate, proper waterproofing in wet areas, and the right setting materials. Skip that and the prettiest tile job cracks, lifts or leaks.

We do the boring part properly so the finished part holds. In a shower especially, tile is as much waterproofing as it is finish work, and because the plumbing side of this business lives here too, the wet work behind that tile is not a stranger's problem.

How it goes

From bare substrate to set and sealed

Prep it right, set it straight, seal it to last.

  1. 1

    Show us the space

Tell us the area, the tile if you have chosen it, and whether it is a wet area. Photos help us judge the prep the surface will need.

  2. 2

    Prep before tile

We level the substrate and waterproof wet areas before a single tile goes down, because that is what decides whether it holds.

  3. 3

    Set, grout, seal

We set it flat and straight, grout it evenly, and seal it - a finish that is still right years later, not just on day one.

Questions

Tile questions we get asked

Straight answers, including the ones people would rather not hear.

How much does tile installation cost in South Jersey?

It depends on the area, the tile and how much prep the surface needs - a flat, sound floor is a different job from one that has to be leveled and waterproofed first. Send the space and we will give you a real number that includes the prep, not just the setting.

Why does tile crack or lift over time?

Almost always because of what is under it - an unlevel or flexing substrate, or missing waterproofing in a wet area. The tile takes the blame but the prep is the cause, which is why we do that part properly before anything gets set.

Do you handle shower tile and waterproofing?

Yes, and that is where it matters most. A shower is as much waterproofing as it is finish, and because the plumbing side is in-house, the wet work behind the tile is handled by the same person setting it.

Can you match or extend existing tile?

Often, depending on what is still available. Send a photo of the existing tile and we will tell you honestly whether it can be matched or whether a clean transition is the better-looking answer.

Drain it. Fix it. Finish it.

Tell us the space and the tile, and we will set it to last, not just to look good on day one.

  • I was pleasantly surprised when Mike replied to my email on a Saturday. Many companies sort of avoid small jobs. Not Mike! He replaced my garbage disposal and cleared couple of drains, explaining everything as he went along. Made time to fix a dishwasher issue while he was there. So friendly and capable, I'm looking into a few other jobs for him. 100% recommend!
